New Website Launched
D2 Selects Land a New Online Home

It is with great pleasure that the ACHA D2 Selects team staff announce the grand opening of its first ever team website. The new online home for the team will serve as the base for all team news, scores, schedules, and sponsors. The technical team has been hard at work to provide a user-friendly website. As we move to the future, we are extremely excited about our new virtual home and look forward to providing the very lastest coverage on all ACHA D2 Select Team information. We encourage everyone to take the time and explore the new website.

Division 2 Vice President Paul Hebert & Commissioner Mike Radakovich are pleased to announce that we will be sending a Select Team for a European Trip to play a series of games versus squads from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and The Czech Republic. This trip is tentatively planned from December 27th to January 4th. The team will be selected with the assistance of the 4 Regional Coordinators who will be scouting Local League Playoffs, Regionals, and the National Finals. Fioroni and Scarpa Join the D2 Selects as Assistant Coaches

It was announced today that Paul Fioroni, Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations at Texas Tech and Ken Scarpa, Head Coach at William Paterson University have been selected to assist Head Coach, Paul Lowden (Davenport University) on the inaugural DII Select Team. Coach Lowden looks forward to working with his assistant coaches.  “Both Paul Fioroni and Ken Scarpa bring a wealth of experience to the Select Team. Select Team Head Coach Announced
Davenport University's Paul Lowden to Lead the D2 Selects

It was announced today that Paul Lowden will coach the ACHA Division II Select Team on their inaugural European Tour, tentatively scheduled for December 27, 2007-January 4, 2008.  Lowden’s playing and coaching experience contributed to his selection.  In reaction to the announcement, Lowden stated, “It is an honor to be selected as head coach of the ACHA DII Select Team. I thank Mike Radakovich and Paul Hebert for this great opportunity.” Growing up in Scarborough, Ontario Canada, Lowden played youth hockey through Juniors in Toronto. click here for full story

As players from all over the country and starting to receive invitations to compete on behalf of the United States in Europe it is important that we provide the same opportunity for their family and friends to join the Select Team overseas. Assistant Coach and Athletic Trainer Round Out Selects Staff

The D2 Select Team welcomes Denny McLean as assistant to Head Coach, Paul Lowden and Mike Goicoechea as Athletic Trainer to the team.  McLean played with the Victoria Cougars and the Calgary Centennials until being drafted at 19 by the Calgary Cowboys in the first round of the 1974 draft.  Drafted also by the New York Islanders that same summer, McLean chose to sign with Calgary.  He continued playing professional hockey for five more years finishing his playing career with the Milwaukee Admirals.  As a coach, McLean has worked with all....
